A note from Principal Redden:
“I am honored to be part of a school system that puts the needs of students first and will support initiatives that continue to help build students for the future. I feel very fortunate to work with such a dedicated staff and look forward to working with the community for student success.
I have been in education for 20 years, teaching high school Social Sciences and coaching high school sports in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. I then moved into the 9-12 principal position in Martin, South Dakota, where I spent the seven years working with an amazing set of students and staff. I coached high school sports for almost 20 years, beginning in college, where I found a passion for helping students find their competitive fire.
I am originally from the Black Hills, graduating from Custer, then going to Black Hills State to pursue my undergraduate degree in Education. I met my wife of 15 years in Belle Fourche, where we lived with our son and many pets. My son and his family live in Sundance, Wyoming, where he works in the timber industry. My wife and I continue to love the small-town atmosphere, the accessibility of surrounding towns, and especially being closer to our families.
I believe in lifelong learning and that the success of students happens most effectively when schools and parents work as one. I believe communication is key and have always had an open-door policy for all stakeholders. I look forward to working with everyone and creating an environment of learning, support, and understanding.”
